The central ingredient in this crème thérapeutique is a proprietary extract of the medicinal herb Horsetail. Horsetail is a deep rooting perennial plant that is indigenous to the British Isles and temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere.

This plant has been used for centuries for its effectiveness in wound healing and in more recent times has been noted for its outstanding benefits for the skin.

Horsetail has been scientifically proven to stimulate fibroblasts, which are cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin to maintain the strong connective and elastic tissue within the extra cellular matrix of the skin. Mineral cofactors are required for DNA synthesis of collagen and elastin within fibroblast cells and these are provided from a healthy diet. Fibroblasts also create mucopolysaccharides, which act as shock absorbers and give a plumping effect to the skin.
